Happy Memorial Day
Today is a day that the United States of America celebrates to honor those who have given it all for the cost of freedom. However, I believe this day is also a wonderful day to not only remember those who have fallen, but remember the one who gave the ultimate sacrifice for you and I’s freedom. Jesus Christ gave His life for all! John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” This sacrifice will be eternally resounding in the lives of every person. Why do I say every person? No matter if you accept Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for you or not, He did it! There are many today that are squandering this eternal liberty freely given, rejecting to take what is offered for the eternal existence without God in their life. This destination is quite simply the Lake of Fire. This is not a metaphorical place, neither is it some strange place that you will only go to for some time, but rather for those who are not saved in Jesus Christ, they will become eternal occupants of the Lake of Fire. Thankfully, this is not where you HAVE to go. We have a choice that Christ gives for all mankind, we only need to recognize this and ask the Lord. The Thief on the cross next to Jesus understood this. His only words to the Messiah were, Luke 23:42 “Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” We dont know his story, up to this point, however, we know two things. When it was time, he came to Jesus and we know that he will be with Jesus from now on. Luke 23:43 “And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Christ’s sacrifice was more than just His death, but His life as well, before and after the grave. Jesus is living; His authority on the cross and the empty tomb declares our authenticity.
This Memorial Day, let us take a moment and be thankful that we have the liberty to practice our faith in Jesus Christ. There are those who have given it all for this freedom. Not a freedom of separation but rather a freedom to practice openly and without shame in who our King is! He is Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, let us not forget that it is because of Jesus Christ we have even the option to worship the Lord God at all. Without the Son of God rescuing us, we would be doomed.
For those who do not live in a nation that does not allow the freedom to openly practice our faith in Jesus Christ. Be of good cheer, the Lord is right there with you as well. My heart goes out to you brothers and sisters, I encourage you to keep the faith and fight the good fight, run the race to the very end. Our time in this pilgrimage is coming closer to an end, our Ambassadorship is still our duty no matter the nation we occupy, we are to proclaim the good news. If you need prayer, please reach out to us. No matter what, we are praying for you!
Hold until relieved, our Blessed Hope is coming,
